This was one of my favourite games when I was a little girl. My sister and I used to play it for hours at a time. To play this game we made twenty-six small pieces of cards. On each of these cards we printed an English letter. And this is how we played it:
First, before we started to play, we decided what the game would be about. For example, we chose to play flowers.
One of us would then mix up (混合) the cards and turn over the one on top of them. If the letter on the card happened (碰巧) to be P, we would try to think, as quickly as possible, of a flower which began with P, such as pansy (紫罗兰) or pink (石竹花). The one who first gave the name of the flower won that card. This was done with each of the twenty-six cards.
In the end the person who had more cards won the game.

Maybe the word "hello" is used more often than any other one in the English language. Every one in the United States and other countries uses the word, again and again, every day of the week.
The American inventor Thomas Edison is believed to be the first person to use "hello" on the telephone soon after the invention of it.
At first, people began their words on the telephone with "Are you there?" They were not sure the small machine could really carry voices.
Edison was a man of few words. He wasted no time. The first time he picked up the telephone, he did not ask if anyone was there. He was sure someone was there and only said "hello".
From then on, "hello" is often heard when you picked up the telephone.

Summer holiday is coming before long. During the holiday, the first thing I'll do is to get relaxed after the examinations to enter the senior middle school. I'll keep on do morning exercises every day as I did at school. In the afternoon I'll go fishing in the river if I'm free. I like playing the computer a lot. So I'm going to search the Internet and try to find some useful information. I like reading. So I'd like to spend some time reading books. My Chinese is a little weak. So I'm going to read more books on Chinese than on any other subject. On the other hand I'll help my parents do some housework as much as possible.
