上次讲了high，今天就顺便讲讲它的反义词low吧！还记得那句Mike has a high opinion of himself嘛？其实把high换作今天要讲的low，那就是相反的意思啦！I have a low opinion of Jack coz he never keeps his promise.（我对Jack的看法不好，因为他总是食言）不过如果说Jack thinks low of himself，千万不要理解为是说他看不起自己，而是说Jack很谦虚，没有自以为是。 我要年薪百万 low这个词在日常生活中用得很多，比如女孩子喜欢的低腰牛仔裤叫low-cut，高腰牛仔裤呢？自然就是high-waist啦~还有去超市买东西的时候，总会说到I need to go buy some milk- I'm low on it.（我需要去买牛奶了，家里牛奶不够了）还有很多人都精通的"炒股票"，虽然Kaitlin数学超级烂，但是基本原则还是知道的：buy low and sell high!-低价买进，高价卖出嘛！哈哈！ 说一个人很低调，家都听说过low-key这个表达吧？其实还可以用一个更形象的方法：keep a low profile. Cathy found it really hard to keep a low profile coz she just loves attention.（Cathy觉得低调对她来说很难，因为她实在是太喜欢被关注了） 在商务英语里面有一个idiom很常用：low-hanging fruit. 挂得很低的水果，那就是不用费很力气就能摘到的水果咯~比如我们在做一件事情的时候总是喜欢从最简单的步骤开始，We like to start from the low-hanging fruits, because they are easy to achieve.在市场营销学里面，理论上也鼓励从最容易被说服的客户着手，但是老板一般会很严厉地说"Dont be satisfied with the low-hanging fruit. Go after the hard-sell types!"（不要只满足于那些"耳根软"的客户，把目标定在那些难搞定的客户吧！" 不过家在学口语的时候，不妨还是从low-hanging fruit开始，尤其是Kaitlin教的这些小词，又简单又实用，何乐而不为呢？
