  Which caused great consternation: INCORRECT. 该句为垂悬修饰语。句子本身不包含任何由 which caused great consternation 修饰的名词. 句子原意是对事件本身评价 (the breakdown of the bed).但主句本身没有任何名词主语. 因此我们需要把修饰语变成动词修饰语要么用分词 participle (causing ... ) 或者用 独立分词 absolute phrase (an event that caused ... ).
